Completely off topic, but I have been using the hipmonk website for the past few months and it is GREAT for all of the travel planning I do.

Clean and streamlined interface, instant results, and results that are functional! If you are planning a trip with airline flights, check this out – and no I am not a spokesperson for it, just really happy to find things that make my life easier.

It’s summer time – and I would like to say this is what my days look like:

But the reality is a little of the above with some precious time with my kids during summer break and a lot of the below. Just lots of lists with design projects, new clients (yeah!), getting the new TLC Creative Services office building up and running, and more.

Get ready for July! There is a full month of blog posts almost all there and a list of blog post ideas I have been accumulating for awhile that will keep things going!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day! My family and I are enjoying the weekend in Washington DC – a great place to remember the reason for Memorial Day.

Seeing your work displayed to the world is always pretty great. In this case, it has also brought in hundreds of comments on a recent Facebook post by Microsoft.

From a recent project for Microsoft, here is one of the video “templates” I created to demonstrate the video capabilities of PPT 2010.
The Facebook post is here.
In reading the comments, I was surprised at the number of people requesting content-over-video be added as a feature. Maybe some additional advertising and market awareness campaigns are needed. Content-over-video is available in PPT 2010, works great, and the video being commented on was developed in PPT 2010.

On a recent show, I was at the tech table front of house (ie. out front looking at the stage, vs. backstage). Here is my view of the event.

Here is my tech area as I developed the marketing presentation for The Green Lantern on a recent show.

The computers are (left to right), production computer, primary show computer, backup show computer. Note my very nifty 7″ USB powered monitor near the center (right above the box of Excedrin…).

Just a few quick shots of my office for the week at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for a corporate show.

Note the center screen flown out in front of audience with flown front projector.

TLC Creative Services (that’s me), was asked by Microsoft to develop some sample PowerPoint 2010 presentations. Some are featured on the Microsoft SlideFest Competition in the Category samples.

When I looked I saw these TLC Creative Services developed presentations:
– Simply The Best
– Real Estate
– The Best Candidate
– Declaration of Independence
– The Game of Rugby

Definitely not a fast “high speed” internet connection (even compared to my mobile broadband), but it is a solution for a 5 hour cross country flight.
