If you are using PowerPoint 2007, or any Office ’07 apps, I highly reccomend checking for Office Updates and installing the just released SP2. It has been a while in the making (announced back in October) and while PowerPoint sees some bugs resolved other applications see features added.

With PPT 2003 if you right click the speaker icon and go to EDIT SOUND OBJECT you get this dialog.
In PPT 2007, click the speaker icon and the ribbon goes to the SOUND TOOLS ribbon. It gives you a lot of information.
Of note the MAX SOUND FILE SIZE (KB) is now not a hidden dialog (be sure this is set to 50,000). But where is the embedded/contained information?
You need to click the more info button in the lower right corner to bring up the legacy dialog to see information about it your audio file is linked or embedded (contained).

Serious – Lori and I are working for Mattel Toys preparing presentations and this really was in the L.A. times. And her (Barbie) presentations not a list of boring bullet points!

When adding a copyright, registration, or trademark I usually want it to be there, but be small and non-distracting. Not certain why this trick only works on the trademark, but it does.
1. Add the TM symbol by typing “(TM)”
2. Highlight the symbol and click the superscipt button to make it even smaller!

If you need to add a Trade mark to your text the common solution is to:
– Go to INSERT
– GO to SYMBOL
– Go to NORMAL TEXT and hunt for the trademark symbol
But there is a an easy and quick way that never has your fingers leave the keyboard. Just type “(TM)”. Done.

Spent last week working in Las Vegas and the new Palazzo hotel (part of The Venetian) is highly recommended. The staging looked great with 2 high-def screens (I controlled) and a lot of smaller support screens (moving video elements) and the set lighting and PPT template color scheme changed with each presenter.
Backstage was the usual glow of computer displays.
Here are the computers I supplied for the event:
1. Primary Left Screen
2. Primary Right Screen
3. My personal production computer
4. Backup Left Screen
5. Backup Left Screen
6. Backup graphics operator personal computer
And although I don’t gamble, this one caught my attention:
